The Moroccan operator ONEP and the Mauritanian operator SNDE have signed an agreement this October 2011 to pursue their efforts of cooperation and to implement the strategic action plan to develop the capacity of SNDE. This multi-party WOP has started in 2007, when ONEP took the lead of the coalition of international partners such as Eau de Paris (France), Vivaqua (Belgium).

SWDE (Belgium), ONEA (Burkina Faso) and SIAAP (France), and which were joined later by SCP (Société Canal de Provence, France) and Waternet (Amsterdam, the Netherlands), to help the Mauritanian operator to improve its performance, in conjunction with a major infrastructure project (water supply increase of the capital Nouakschott -Aftout project). This partnership is strongly supported by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation, AECID.
